On a Visit to Provincetown
On a Visit to Provincetown

Return to the Provincetown of a century ago with this collection of hand-colored glass lantern slide views by illustrator, designer and photographer Harry C. Whorf, the father of noted watercolorist John Whorf.

During the 1920s and 1930s, Sarah “Sadie” Whorf — Mrs. Harry C. Whorf — presented these slides to enthusiastic audiences throughout the Boston area. Her delightful talks were full of color with touches of history, geology, nature, and an all-pervading flavor of the sea.
